His other professional affiliations include the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons, International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity, National Medical Association, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and Society of Black Academic Surgeons.

Adam B. Smith DO, FACOS

Dr. Adam Smith is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. His other professional affiliations include the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society and the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons. His practice, Fort Worth LAP-BAND, has performed close to 2,000 LAP–BAND procedures. He is a faculty member for Allergan, the manufacturer of the LAP–BAND and Covidian. In this capacity Dr. Smith trains other surgeons to perform the LAP–BAND procedure.
